the keep proved a steady shelter for winter. that particular season brought heavier snow than anticipated. supplies ran short so he ventured out into the woods of the mountain to bring in food and firewood. a few miles into the wool blanket of trees protruded a metal shape from the snow. “another crash?” he thought as he approached the opening. from the looks of it, the chunk of ship was the galley. inside, the blinking light next to the system’s tape logs was the only sign of energy. a storm picked up so he stayed in the vessel for warmth while listening to fragmented recordings until daybreak…
